We are what we consume

We are made up of everything we consume.
It’s not just the nutrients within our foods that create our bodies and our moods.
As it’s also the media we read, watch and listen to that creates our thoughts, values and perspectives.
Just as important, are the people we mix with that have a huge influence on how we interact in the world. This also effects our choices, paths and opinions we choose.
Even our thoughts, and those of the people around us, shape us fundamentally. They don’t even need to be said out loud or written.
Everything and everyone has a vibration – people, places, media, food – in fact all matter, thoughts, emotions and states of being. If we want to tune and expand our consciousness, then we need to be very choosy of the types of vibration we surround ourselves with.
We are what we consume and bathe in. So make very specific choices about what you’d like to be made of as you step forward in your life

Aching to Meditate

Sometimes I find myself lying in bed, seeing the gorgeous sunlight on the autumn turning leaves and I just don’t want to get up
It doesn’t seem to be related to what type of day I have ahead of me – it just feels like a general lethargy.
Why can it be like this, when in reality I have such a blessed life?
I just want to snuggle up in the blankets alone, half sleepy, not wanting to be active. I’m not sleepy or unwell and yet it can go on and on for ages if I’m not careful.
So I decide to pause and really feel into what is going on underneath this malaise .
I take an inward step and feel into my longings – the longings for deep ease, aching to really be at home. This is not just my physical house, but the feelings of REALLY being at home within myself that this lingering in bed just doesn’t touch.
In fact I could lie there for hours, at the threshold and it never satisfies even an ounce of this longing for home.
So I sit up straight, inspired – “if I really want to go home – then I shall”. With this I effortlessly slide into meditation and my whole being expands into relief. Thank goodness I’m giving myself what I really want!
It doesn’t take long as only after 20 minutes or so, that longing, that huge ache is satisfied. I can bounce out of bed with energy and excitement and love for the day –
Thank Goodness!
